Lapeer and Oakland County Michigan United States of America Over two hundred and fifty protesters gathered on Monday September 13, 2010. The crowd gathered outside the Lapeer County Government building around 11AM and protested the arrest of state certified marihuana caregivers and patients. They left that venue around 1PM. Then the crowd moved to the massive Oakland County government facility to protest the controversial Sherrif Bouchard. Oakland and Lapeer counties have recently arrested legal marijuana patients and caregivers in Michigan. Police during the raids also seized property, monies, and children belonging to these law abiding citizens. They also used voilent and extreme tactics during these raids, which lead to the heart attack and death of one of the accused. In response to these arrests MACC was formed: “The MACC is committed to protecting the rights of patients to enjoy the freedoms given to them by the People of the state of Michigan. The freedom to be a patient and not be penalized because of it. The freedom to possess medication that was grown, not synthesized, and not have it taken from you.
